We have reached the 3rd post in the series of release wave 2 2024 for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform. The first post was all about Customer Insights-Journeys and the second post continued with Customer Insights - Data and Sales.
Now the last part that I will cover that can be found in the Dynamics 365 release notes is Microsoft Copilot for Sales.

Manage customer objections in real time

Microsoft Copilot for Sales with the help of sentiment analysis will help to log and categorize the different objections raised during the meeting. Based on that information it will provide instant and context specific responses to help mitigate the objections as the meeting is still ongoing.
Update CRM directly from the post-meeting insights page

From the post meeting recap tab in Teams you will be able to save the AI generated meeting summary notes to a meeting in CRM. Helping to save time in having to manually write in the summary after the meeting in CRM. Also create new records in CRM. You will be able to do most of your meeting follow up directly from Teams and Copilot for Sales.
Create meeting follow-up emails from meeting summary

To automate the follow up process after a meeting, Teams will prompt you with an option to send out a "Thank you and next steps" email to the meeting participants with an AI generated summary and action items.
So far I have been very impressed with the meeting summaries from Microsoft 365 Copilot, but I urge everyone to double check the information Copilot is creating. It doesn't always get everything correct. Especially when it comes to names or specific product functionality.
Create opportunities from sales meeting summary

Moving on with even more features to connect CRM with meetings in Teams. From November 2024 it will be possible to use the AI generated meeting summaries to create Opportunities in CRM. All the data that system can manage to find and match from the meeting will be automatically populated on the newly created Opportunity record.
See improved contact insights in Outlook

With emails in Outlook and meetings in Teams, it can be hard to get a full overview of communication with a contact. From October 2024 it will be possible to get it all collected in the Recent communications card in the Copilot for Sales pane in Outlook. There you will be able to use AI to summarize emails, open emails and meetings or get an overview of the last 3 meetings and emails with a specific contact.
Summarize and save notes into CRM directly from OneNote
Public preview: October 2024, General availability: December 2024
This is a very great feature for everyone using OneNote for meeting or other notes and would like to get them quickly to CRM. From October 2024 you will be able to use the Copilot in OneNote to summarize your notes and then also save it to CRM without having to change applications.
In order to get the option, you need to add the Copilot for Sales plugin to OneNote Copilot.
Here, I hope we will also get the same functionality soon also to Microsoft Loop 😉
